Together Women Rise is a powerful community of women and allies dedicated to achieving global gender equality. We have hundreds of local chapters across the U.S. where members learn about and advocate for gender equality issues, give grants to organizations that empower women and girls in low-income countries, and build community to forge meaningful connections that increase our strength and collective impact. Tandana is deeply grateful for TWR's generous grant, which made possible the Women's Literacy Program in Mali from 2016-2018.

Kawsaymi is a cooking school just down the hill from Tandana's office in Panecillo (Ecuador), which was started by one of our scholarship families. We bring many of our volunteer groups here because the food and location are amazing, and so are the owners. All told the chance to cook together at Kawsaymi makes for a memorable afternoon.

The Traveling School offers teenage girls ages 15-18 the opportunity to explore the world and learn about themselves through academic, physical, and cultural challenges. We partner with them when they bring groups to Ecuador, but our relationship extends far beyond that. Anna Taft, Tandana's founder, initially worked for the Traveling School, and with them, set up her first project in the community of Agualongo. The success of this project is what inspired her to launch Tandana.

Unearth the World was created in 2012 when Mike and Kathryn, a married couple from Chicago, decided to give up their corporate jobs to travel the world and volunteer for a year. They decided to take the trip of a lifetime in an attempt to unearth and discover the world. They wanted to see and experience international cultures from a local’s perspective instead of a tourist’s perspective. Since 2018, UTW looks for and pairs interested individuals and groups with Tandana programs creating another win-win opportunity.
